Summer 2013 - The DOs and DON'Ts of Swimsuit Trends

Summer 2013 - The DOs and DON'Ts of Swimsuit Trends

Summer is here and many beach goers are looking to enjoy the sun, the water, and perhaps even a great tan. This year brings with it some new, flirty, fun and comfortable trends. This list of dos and don'ts will help any woman find the perfect 2013 swimsuit style that is perfect for any body type.
Many women have noticed that the popularity of color-block style clothing has become a major hit on the runway and in many retail stores. Now it has become a popularity among swimwear styles.
DO find a way to import a color-block style into swimsuits, whether they are a two-piece of a one-piece. The great thing about a color-blocked look is that it has slimming qualities, making it suitable for larger body styles. The flatter lines of bands against lighter prints is a great way to accentuate the right curves while masking others.
DON'T hesitate to mix and match certain colors and prints. Mixed prints are very in right now and a color-block swimsuit does not have to consist of solid colors. Consider mixing animal prints, floral patterns or polka dots with solid colors instead. This creates a bold, chic look that looks great on any woman.
Keep it sporty and fun. Many women have hit the beach in a sporty or relaxed boho look. There are simple ways to pull of this look and make it look great.
DO try out a crocheted one-piece of two-piece swimsuit. However, it is best to test these items out before heading to the beach. Crocheted bikinis tend to be a little more revealing than woman initially realized, particularly when they are wet. Try it out in private first to see if it is a preferred style choice.
DON'T be afraid to add a modern like to this very laid back, chic look. Accessorize the look with a sporty pair of glasses or perhaps even some cutoff sweat shorts or a great pair of sandals. This makes the swimsuit look fashionable, comfortable, chic and modern all rolled into one.
Not ready for a bikini but like to show off some skin? No worries, cutout one-piece swimsuits are also in this season. They provide an edgy look that is sexy without being too revealing.
DO try out a variety of patterns. Many women think that a cutout swimsuit has enough of an appearance that it doesn't need patterns. While solid colors are great, so are fun prints such as random, wild patterns, animal prints, polka dots and stripes.
DON' wear wedges or heels with this particular look. A patterned or even a solid colored cutout swimsuit is often edgy enough on its own. Wearing heels or wedges can make this style appear too busy. Instead, opt for a comfortable pair of flat sandals.
A little fringe never hurt anyone. It is cute, flirty and fun. It can also highlight certain areas of the body. This is a great look on swimsuits, especially bikinis.
DO opt for a fringed swimsuit or bikini top. Women who have more of a boyish build, those that lack curves, especially around the hips and bust line would do well wearing this style. Fringes give the illusion of curves.
DON'T choose fringes if there are certain problem areas such as a thick waist, larger hips or thighs. Instead, draw the eye away from these problem areas by choosing a swimsuit with fringe on the top only.
